So you beat me to it. Always felt that I would precede everyone with that final trip. You snot, I know that you are laughing your fanny off thinking you put one over on dad. Gonna bust your butt when I catch up with you. Well, it's not easy coping with the large void left with your passing. Seems that not a day goes by where some incident will trigger a memory involving you and one of the family. Of course, there now is, a flood of feelings and tears flowing that tie in with those memories. Given enough time, perhaps the butt ripping hurt will diminish some what. The retirement diner that you were going to be a cook in, is running in full swing. S, S and P are busy along with K, even little M is involved. Bunch of family and friends went in for a breakfast, and the place was humming with activity. I'm sure you are nagging away with frequent suggestions on what needs immediate attention. Anyway, whether it's force of habit or a memorable love, there is pretty much always place holder chair or plate set out for you. I always wondered why one bawls a river on anyone passing on to a better place, when one should be shouting out in joy. Guess it's the immediate loss of some thing that was perhaps overlooked while experiencing it. Had the family Christmas get together with frequent sad moments of loud silences, and sneaky eye wiping of an unwanted tear. So for now and until we meet again, know that we all love you, and enjoy a good Christmas with the Big Boss, and hint a good word for us all, while your at it .

Guess one is never to old to learn. When I came across this headline on one web page "The Deadly Side Effects of the Birth Control Pill", had to check it out. Am aware that birth control pills, could be a problem with many women, didn't recall anything mentioning "deadly" to women. So did read the articles. What a dilemma for any women to be in.  What is this going to do to those females, as they reach child bearing age! Talk about being between a rock and a hard place as the saying go's. As I read some of the comments made by the pill users, in this article, "The Deadly Side Effects of the Birth Control Pill" listed below, could only shake my head in disbelief. Looks like some serious choices need to be made.

Migraines
Blood clots
Weight gain

Never ever gave it a thought. Breast cancer in men! Yup! Ordinarily, one hears mostly, that women, are the ones affected. Once I did become aware of it, and what may be a major factor, aluminum, I started reading labels on all products. Found that my prime dose of aluminum, came from my antiperspirant. Next, came the possible link between aluminum and Alzheimer's. What to do now? It's one thing to be " ripe ", on the back forty, on the farm, but in the business world, that is a " no,no " of immense magnitude.Long story short, I looked and tried various brands of deodorants and antiperspirants. Well now, when a small river of sweat, rolls down, from the armpit, how does one cope with it? Disgusting as it is, to see shirts with wet patterns in the armpits, add a nice dose of " ripe ", and you have a problem to cope with. Sweating is how the body regulates ones internal temperature, and move out toxins. So one should not stop the process. Become a hermit or find a cave to hide in? Neither choice appealed to me. What did I do! Well, I came across a little blurb, that said, " use baking soda and cornstarch", for controlling, sweat and odor. Mix ratio was mentioned as " 1 to 1 " of each product. Overall it worked perfect. A little experimentation was required, but I did finally find, what worked for me. The beneficial qualities of baking soda are the result of its ability to act as a buffer, neutralizing both acidic and alkaline substances to regulate pH.

It is sad, and heartbreaking to see the affects of breast cancer, and Alzheimer's. Hard on the individual affected, and ones family. There is no magic pill, only a " step by step ' process of eliminating " suspected " foods or drinks.

Aluminum, a common ingredient added to antiperspirants to stop skin sweating, may be linked to breast cancer, a study by British scientists found.The researchers tested breast samples from 17 breast-cancer patients who had undergone mastectomies. The women who used antiperspirants had deposits of aluminum in their outer breast tissue. Concentrations of aluminum were higher in the tissue closest to the underarm than in the central breast.Aluminum is not normally found in the human body, and the researchers believe the metal is being absorbed from antiperspirant sprays and roll-ons. Animal studies have found that aluminum can cause cancer, and the British researcher who led this study, Dr. Chris Exley from Keele University, has also suggested that the aluminum content of sunscreens could increase users’ risk of skin cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.Further studies are needed to determine if the aluminum came from antiperspirants and whether it contributed to breast cancer.The director-general of the Cosmetic, Toiletry & Perfumery Association said they do not believe that the aluminum in antiperspirants is absorbed by the body.Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry November 2007 (This study is not yet published)

Let’s get one thing straight, folks. There are certain metals that are toxic to humans; they are poison and most people do not understand this. They are NOT nutrients in small quantities -- if anything they are anti-nutrients.What are these commonly misunderstood toxins?Mercury, fluoride, and aluminum.You don’t need any of these poisons in your body, so remember to avoid them.Unfortunately, if you use antiperspirants, you are most likely exposing yourself to aluminum -- the heavy metal that’s been linked to Alzheimer’s disease and now possibly breast cancer. Aluminum salts can account for 25 percent of the volume of some antiperspirants.Antiperspirants work by clogging, closing, or blocking the pores that release sweat under your arms -- with the active ingredient being aluminum. Not only does this block one of your body’s routes for detoxification (releasing toxins via your underarm sweat), but it raises concerns about where these heavy metals are going once you roll them (or spray them) on.Given that antiperspirants are used on your armpits, the aluminum salt concentration is highest near your breast tissue. Further, when women shave under their arms it can result in a higher aluminum-salt absorption rate due to the damaged skin.The aluminum in antiperspirants has been linked to breast cancer before. A 2006 study found that aluminum salts can mimic the hormone estrogen, and chemicals that imitate that hormone are known to increase breast cancer risk.Fortunately, reducing your exposure is pretty simple -- simply ditch your antiperspirant and deodorant.It’s worth mentioning that deodorants are not the same thing as antiperspirants. They may actually be less problematic than antiperspirants, as they work by neutralizing the smell of your sweat and by antiseptic action against bacteria, but do not prevent sweating. However, many deodorants also contain aluminum, along with parabens, which have also been linked to breast cancer. So, you’re clearly better off avoiding both antiperspirants and deodorants.Personally, I have not used any antiperspirants or deodorants for over 25 years. Simple soap and water has served me quite well, and I don't ever recall anyone telling me I had an offensive odor. When I stopped using them I noticed the stains I was getting on the underarms of my shirts stopped. It was clear that they were NOT related to my sweat but to the chemicals in the antiperspirant I was using. If you get stains in the armpit areas of your shirts you can virtually be guaranteed it is from the antiperspirant. Please remember that most chemicals you put on your skin are absorbed quite nicely into your bloodstream. So if you wouldn’t eat something you would put on your skin, I would advise not using it.If you simply can’t imagine going without antiperspirant or deodorant, you can find aluminum-free varieties in your local health food store. (But I would encourage you to at least TRY going without before making your mind up.)

Ah, for the times I did oil paintings along with Bill Alexander, while watching his TV show.
These are crude, but oh, what a feeling to even get these. Roses gave me a problem, more so than the others. Recall wiping off the roses painting dozens of times before any semblance of roses took place. One day I spotted an ad, stating Mr Alexander was giving a demo at a local mall. So, I took my crude pride and joy, rose painting, to see if I could get some verbal encouragement from Mr. Alexander. He was quite the gentlemen, verbally, and he smiled and laughingly said "not bad", I've been painting roses most of my life, and they still give me trouble". Mr Alexander, has passed away, but "Thank You Bill'.
